Barberstown Castle

A twenty-five minute car journey from Dublin takes you into the lush countryside of Straffan and the Old World tranquillity of Barberstown Castle.

The Castle was built in 1172 and is filled with the most amazing old world charm of that era, having been owned at one time by Lord Fitzgerald, the hotel is now run by the charming and efficient Margot Gorman who will personally oversee your wedding reception.

Your wedding day is the most important day in your life, the day that both you and your fiancé deserve Barberstown Castle. Built in the 16th century, the wonderful medieval banqueting hall can cater for up to 150 guests and has its own self-contained bar and oak dance floor.

Barberstown quite rightly prides itself on the quality of food and service and guarantees only one wedding reception a day so you can be assured of undivided attention. All produce served in the hotel is freshly prepared in the Castle's kitchens.

Barberstown Castle has consistantly won awards over the years from the A.A. and the RAC for the quality of its food and service. With dishes such as Mignons of Beef with Shallots and Wild Mushrooms and Roast Saddle of Lamb with Pistachio nut stuffing and a Rosemary Sauce on the wedding menus, it is excellent value for money.

The complimentary Bridal Suite which is yours for the night of your wedding has a wonderful four poster bed in luxurious surroundings.
Barberstown Castle is a member of "Ireland's Blue Book" of quality country house hotels.
