Clíona McDonough was born in Dublin.

She began her singing studies with Mary Brennan and then studied with Dr. Veronica Dunne and Ian Barr in London.
She has a Fellowship Diploma in singing, a diploma for Piano and is an honours Music and Irish graduate of TCD. She also holds a first class honours Masters in Performance and Musicology from NUI Maynooth.

Clíona has been a recipient of many scholarships and awards over the years.

Much sought after as an alto/mezzosoprano soloist, she has performed with Ireland’s leading choral societies and has a wide oratorio repertoire.

Clíona is much sought after as a wedding soloist and her repertoire is extensive, providing both the most popular wedding hymns/songs and many alternatives. She is also a fluent Irish speaker and particularly enjoys singing ‘as Gaeilge’. Clíona has also sung with many choral groups for wedding ceremonies and can organise vocal duets, trios, quartets or chamber choirs for your service.
